Midstream Operations Technician I/II/III/IV Smithfield, WV Job Overview Equipped with a culture of transparency, impact, and growth, you will join EQT to support midstream gathering system operations. Responsibilities Maintain a safe operating environment, including utilizing Stop Work Authority and adhering to EQT policies and procedures. Perform duties related to the operation of midstream gathering systems—compression, pipelines, storage, dehydration, measurement, and associated equipment. Operate, troubleshoot, and carry out preventative maintenance and minor repairs on pipelines, appurtenances, natural gas engines, electric motors, dehydration equipment, auxiliary equipment, and gas compressors. Conduct pipeline maintenance tasks such as leak surveys, leak repair, methanol/odorant injection, valve maintenance, pigging, line‑locating One‑Calls, and troubleshooting pipeline restrictions or obstructions (e.g., hydrates). Execute basic operational tasks, including line locating, tank emptying, refilling fluids, inspecting tanks and facilities, and checking tank and equipment fluid levels. Collaborate with EQT’s construction department to coordinate shut‑downs, commissioning of pipelines and facilities, and participate in Pre‑Safety Startup Review (PSSR) and Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) procedures for transfer of ownership. Complete assignments as directed within established timelines, documenting information accurately in a computerized database for work orders, field data collection, and compliance reporting. Required Experience and Skills High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year of related work experience in the natural gas industry, including pipeline, storage, and facility operations. Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Detail‑oriented, strong organizational and research skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage priorities independently. Team player with high energy, initiative, and self‑motivation. Preferred Experience and Skills 1–3 years of experience in the natural gas industry with field, mechanical, glycol dehydration, and compression expertise. Comprehensive knowledge of natural gas processing, pipeline operations, and maintenance. Working Conditions Position requires sitting, lifting, and filing during most of the day; occasional field assignments may involve walking on construction sites, industrial locations, and wooded areas. Exposure to varied weather conditions, uneven terrain, high noise levels, and the requirement to use proper PPE at all times.
