Application Engineer and Lab Manager

Job Summary Manages all engineering activities within a department including design, development, production and testing. Implements and maintains overall engineering objectives and initiatives. Responsible for leading and supervising a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify, and create solutions to technical problems. Responsibilities & Duties Supervise and lead engineers/technicians designing machinery Supervise and lead laboratories engineers/technicians team Oversee production and quality control. Confront and solve performance/operational issues to improve development efficiency. Direct and coordinate production, operations, quality assurance, testing, or maintenance in plants. Oversee the research and development of new products and procedures. Discuss and lay out project specifications. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Bachelor's degree in engineering required. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Leadership & Talent Management: Manages a team typically comprising of intermediate-level professionals and entry level professionals. Leads, directs and reviews the work of team members in order to accomplish operational plans and results. Typically has hiring, firing, promotion, and reward authority within own area, in accordance with manager review and approval. Knowledge & Experience: Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one job area. Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization. Typically has a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional certification and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
