Location: Northwest Houston (77041) | Pay: $21 - $24/hr.

A well-established Houston industrial manufacturing and distribution company is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support its Maintenance Department. This role is responsible for purchasing MRO materials, replacement parts, tools, supplies, and outside services needed to support manufacturing equipment, warehouse operations, and facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Purchase MRO parts, maintenance supplies, tools, safety items, and repair services.
• Work with maintenance technicians and supervisors to confirm part numbers, specifications, quantities, and delivery needs.
• Request quotes, compare pricing and lead times, and issue purchase orders.
• Track open orders, backorders, and deliveries; expedite critical items to minimize downtime.
• Maintain relationships with industrial suppliers, service vendors, machine shops, electrical suppliers, and hydraulic/pneumatic vendors.
• Help maintain inventory levels for critical spare parts and frequently used maintenance materials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5 years of purchasing, procurement, MRO, inventory-control, or vendor-management experience.
• Industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, warehouse, fabrication, machining, or distribution experience preferred.
• Familiarity with industrial parts such as bearings, belts, motors, electrical components, hydraulic/pneumatic fittings, tools, lubricants, fasteners, and safety supplies is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Outlook; ERP or inventory-system experience preferred.
