Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.Export Control: This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.Amazon Leo Productivity Engineering Application Services (ALPEAS) is looking for a System Development Engineer to own the deployment, administration, and automation of productivity tools — primarily Jama Connect and related engineering collaboration platforms — within Amazon Leo. You will build and operate infrastructure in AWS GovCloud to support Leo's systems engineering, requirements management, and test management workflows at scale.Key job responsibilities- Jama Connect Operations: Deploy, configure, maintain, and scale Jama Connect infrastructure in AWS GovCloud, ensuring high availability, performance, and security compliance (ITAR/EAR).- Infrastructure as Code: Design and implement CDK stacks for application infrastructure including compute (EC2/ECS), databases (RDS/Aurora), networking (VPC, PrivateLink, NLB), and storage.- Automation & Integration: Build automation for user provisioning, access management, backups, patching, and monitoring. Develop integrations between Jama and other Kuiper tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, TestRail).- Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain security controls compliant with ITAR and export control regulations. Manage access through least-privilege models.- Monitoring & Incident Response: Build dashboards, alarms, and runbooks. Participate in on-call rotation to ensure service reliability.- Tool Evaluation & Adoption: Evaluate, pilot, and onboard new productivity tools to support Kuiper's engineering workflows. Drive user training and adoption.A day in the lifeIn this role, you will function as both an Jama/productivity tools DevOps Engineer. You will operate various collaboration tools stacks in AWS GovCloud, develop automation for upgrades/patching/testing, and enhance observability of the systems. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
