Inventory Planning & Procurement Specialist

TeachTown is the leading provider of education solutions for students diagnosed with autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders, and speech/language impairments. Our growing team of professionals is seeking an Inventory Control & Procurement Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing inventory accuracy and supporting procurement activities that ensure educational materials, classroom/manipulative kits, and operational supplies are available to meet customer demand. The ideal candidate is highly detail oriented, data driven, and comfortable working cross functionally with our Operations, Finance, Sales, and Customer Experience teams. Only applicants who reside within a commuting distance (up to 1 hour one each way) of Wilmington, MA will be considered. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Planning and Procurement Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records across warehouse(s) and inventory management systems Perform regular cycle counts and reconciliation to ensure inventory accuracy based on standard operating procedures Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and variances Maintain optimal stock levels to support fulfillment timelines while minimizing excess inventory Track product movement, returns, and adjustments Support inventory audits and ensure compliance with company procedures Build and maintain vendor relationships, monitor supplier performance and conduct audits as required. Execute Purchase Orders, track deliveries and resolve supplier issues Maintain and report on key operating metrics as defined by head of department. Demand Planning & Forecasting Analyze historical usage, sales forecasts, and seasonal demand trends (e.g., back-to-school cycles) to determine procurement needs Collaborate with Operations and Sales teams to anticipate inventory needs Assist in replenishment planning to prevent stockouts and fulfillment delays Provide reporting and insights on inventory performance and purchasing trends Warehouse & Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with warehouse teams to coordinate inbound shipments and receiving processes Work closely with Customer Experience teams to resolve order or product availability issues Collaborate with Finance for invoice matching and procurement reconciliation Process Improvement & Reporting Identify opportunities to improve inventory tracking, planning and procurement workflows Generate regular reports on inventory levels, purchasing activity, and product availability Support implementation of new systems or operational processes as the company scales Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations, or related field or equivalent experience 2-4 years of experience in inventory control, procurement, warehouse operations, or supply chain support 2+ years experience in print procurement Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong communication and problem solving abilities About TeachTown Our mission is to measurably improve the academic, behavioral, and adaptive functioning of students with disabilities.
