Administrative Specialist I (S)

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.

This position is housed at the WorkSource East training facility in Goldsboro, NC. The primary purpose of this position is to provide customer service functions for the facility and perform administrative and technical support. Performs a variety of ongoing functions for the facility such as office support tasks, customer service and administrative support. Requires knowledge regarding the agency, the training facility, its policies and procedures, and the ability to verbalize this information effectively and appropriately. This position is primarily responsible for all public contact and interactions with visitors, consumers, vendors, etc. in person, phone, or email. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing daily phone and door coverage for the facility.

Salary Grade Range $39,244 - $68,679

Recruitment Range $39,244 - $40,973
