Senior Project ManagerIrby Construction Company, is one of the nation's leading electrical contractors, is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to manage electrical transmission, distribution, substation, and related projects for our Central Regional office based in Richland, Mississippi which performs work throughout the state of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi. This position is responsible for overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The responsibilities for this role span a broad spectrum, covering all the areas of project management, project planning, contract administration, quality, and safety management while ensuring projects are completed successfully.ResponsibilitiesPrepare project construction schedulesPrepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to clientsManage day-to-day activities of assigned projectsAct as the main point-of-contact on large complex projectsCoordinate and lead meetings, schedule updates, submit deliverables and address outstanding open items as requested by clientsPrepare look-ahead documents and weekly, monthly progress reports and related billing informationReview and monitor job costs versus budgetsReport regularly to the management teamHelp prepare and regularly update comprehensive cost estimates for projects as necessaryPrepare bills of material and other informationClosely monitor and track all equipment utilization, including owned, leased, and rented vehicles and equipment.Develop work plans and collaborate with construction Superintendent responsible for overseeing the project.Monitor work for compliance with schedule, budget, quality, safety, and overall conformance with the contract documents.Attend progress meetings, develop status reports, and deliver presentations as required.Assist in negotiating with the customer regarding changes to design, construction work scope, and schedules.Support Company's safety vision and comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures; maintain accountability for safety performance of subordinate personnel.Project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking of team expenses, forecasting, job margins and minimizing exposure/risk on projects.Oversee project field office personnelUnderstand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable.Regular and predictable attendanceAdditional duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience (5+ years' project management in the construction industry)10 years or more of experience in the electrical industry and/or possessing project management experience within transmission, distribution, or substation construction projects is preferredKnowledgeable about specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and servicesAble to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, etc. plans and specifications to include blueprints, proposals, and other documents as they relate to electrical workProficient with Microsoft Office applicationsExperienced with estimating software toolsAbility to prepare and or support preparation of construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or PrimaveraExcellent analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skillsTeam player who is able to successfully work with diverse internal and external partnersSelf-driven with the ability to stay on-task for extended periods of timeReliable, experienced, customer-oriented and proven leadership experience.Ability to effectively solve problems and conflicts.Ability to plan, coordinate, and provide leadership in the execution of complex construction projects and manage a large workforce.Ability to delegate and manage multiple operations simultaneously.Ability to assess the operational effectiveness of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.Ability to analyze and interpret technical information accurately and effectivelyBenefitsComprehensive Medical Coverage – Multiple BCBS medical plan options, all with in-network preventive care covered at no cost, the same nationwide provider network, and access to virtual care for primary care, dermatology, general medical needs, and mental health support.Prescription Drug Coverage included with all medical plans, plus tools and advocacy support to help manage healthcare costs.Dental & Vision Coverage – Dental plans with 100% coverage for preventive care and orthodontia options for adults and children, plus vision coverage with annual exams and frame allowances.Health Savings & Flexible Spending Accounts – HSA options with Fidelity, Healthcare FSA, Limited Purpose FSA, and Dependent Care FSA (up to $7,500) to help you save on eligible healthcare and dependent expenses.401(k) Retirement Plan with Company Match – Immediate eligibility and vesting, with a company match of 100% on the first 3% and 50% on the next 3% (up to 4.5% total match).Life & Disability Insurance – Company-paid basic life and AD&D coverage, plus optional supplemental life insurance for employees and dependents.
