About the Position

Job Title: Nursing Administration Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: 2-3 years of acute care experience required License: Required License and Certifications Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CST, CSA, ARR Must-Have: Critical care experience preferred; EPIC experience required Description: About the Facility: This facility is a Level I Trauma Center. It is Magnet designated and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The facility has a total of 794 beds. Unit Information: The unit has 28 beds, including 2 hybrid rooms for CV/Vascular cases. It averages approximately 60-75 cases per day. The unit accepts first-time travelers. Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: The unit sees outpatient and inpatient cases, including trauma. Common diagnoses include GSW, stabbings, transplant cases (kidney, heart), general surgeries, GYN, urology, robotics, vascular, orthopedic, neurology, and open heart/CABG cases. The hybrid room typically sees between 5-10 cases per day and treats adult patients only. Skills Required: Staff must be able to scrub and circulate. Trauma experience is required, preferably at a level 1-2. EPIC experience is essential for OR and CVOR positions. Support Within the Department: Charge nurses do not have patient assignments during weekdays. Bedside monitoring is conducted by anesthesiologists. Resource nurses, educators, service line representatives, and EPIC super-users provide additional support. Technology/Equipment: The EMR used is EPIC. IV pumps are Alaris, and medication is dispensed via Pyxis. Floating: There is no floating requirement. Scheduling: Weekend rotation is every 4th weekend. Shifts are assigned based on a rotation without self-scheduling. The operating room is open 24/7 throughout the year. Holiday Requirements: Holiday coverage is mandatory. On-call duties are dependent on shifts/service line with a 30-minute response time required. Other Notes: Scrub colors are provided to the staff.
