Heart Failure Cardiologist

Position The Heart Failure (HF) Section in the Division of Cardiology at The MetroHealth Medical Center is seeking a board‑certified/board‑eligible HF Cardiologist to join a growing team of HF providers at the HF Care Center (HFCC). This is an academic position with a faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine. In addition to clinical efforts, candidates will have protected time for teaching and research. Team & Environment The HFCC at MetroHealth is run by a collaborative team of providers including HF‑trained, board‑certified cardiologists, HF‑trained nurse practitioners, HF‑certified nurses, a nurse coordinator, and a clinical pharmacist. This team has established multiple clinical programs for the management of patients with various types of HF, pulmonary arterial hypertension, cardiac amyloidosis, cardio‑oncology, and muscular dystrophy. The HFCC also collaborates with regional heart‑transplantation centers to identify and evaluate patients who may be candidates for advanced HF therapy and to co‑manage patients after receipt of left ventricular assist devices through the Shared Care LVAD program. The HFCC is an active participant in several multicenter randomized clinical trials and has received multiple get‑with‑the‑guidelines (GWTG) Gold‑plus certifications for implementing guideline‑directed medical therapy for patients with HF.
