You know how to build a case from evidence, manage a heavy docket without losing the details, and make a persuasive argument to a decision-maker who has heard it all before. Here, those skills go toward securing a veteran a benefit that changes the arc of their life — often permanently, and often with years of retroactive benefits attached. There is no revolving door. When you win, it holds.

What the work looks like

\n

· Advocate for veteran clients before VA Regional Offices, the Board of Veterans' Appeals, or the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims

\n

· Apply the evidence-based case-building and hearing-room judgment you already have — now on behalf of a client rather than against a defendant

\n

· Carry your own caseload working with a case managers and a firm built entirely around this one practice area

\n

· Deliver tangible, durable results: benefits that give veterans stability, dignity, and the ability to move forward

\n

An honest note: this is a federal administrative practice, not a courtroom trial practice. The records are dense and the VA is slow. If what you liked about prosecution was the case-building and the argument rather than the trial calendar, this work will feel familiar and the results will feel better.

What we require

\n

· Trial, hearing, or appellate experience in any setting

\n

· Comfort managing a substantial number of hearings independently

\n

· No prior VA or veterans law experience required; we train you

\n

· Admission to and good standing with the bar of any U.S. state or territory (VA practice is federal — we do not require admission in a particular state, and we handle VA accreditation after you join)

\n

· Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, and strong legal research skills

\n

· A reliable home workspace and internet connection

\n

Location

\n

Fully remote. We hire anywhere in the Eastern or Central time zones. All VA hearings are conducted by video or telephone — there is no required travel.

\n

Compensation & Benefits

\n

· $80,000 starting salary

\n

· Automatic increase to $85,000 upon reaching a full caseload — typically within six months (a full caseload is typically 15 hearings per month)

\n

· Health insurance medical / dental / vision; employer pays 100 percent for basic coverage.

\n

· 401(k) eligibility after one year 5 percent employer match

\n

· Vacation plus 15.5 paid holidays/paid days off

\n

· Bar dues, CLE, and VA accreditation costs covered 

\n
