While the firm is best known for its successful personal injury practice, it is seeking to continue growing its medical malpractice practice as a senior shareholder prepares for retirement. The firm is open to attorneys at all experience levels, from ambitious associates looking to build a practice to experienced partners interested in stepping into a leadership role. Position Overview The firm is seeking a Medical Malpractice Attorney to handle all aspects of plaintiff‑side medical negligence litigation. Depending on experience, the attorney will manage an existing caseload, work alongside experienced trial attorneys, or take a lead role in growing and overseeing the firm's medical malpractice practice. This position offers significant long‑term growth potential, substantial litigation experience, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on clients' lives. Responsibilities Handle plaintiff‑side medical malpractice matters from pre‑litigation through trial. Conduct case evaluations and develop litigation strategy. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents. Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and expert witnesses. Work closely with medical experts to analyze liability and damages. Participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, and court appearances. Prepare cases for trial and serve as first or second chair, depending on experience. Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the litigation process. Collaborate with the firm's personal injury team on catastrophic injury matters involving medical negligence. Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Active membership in the California State Bar. Experience handling medical malpractice litigation is preferred. Open to attorneys ranging from Associate through Partner level. Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Experience taking depositions, arguing motions, and managing litigation is preferred. Trial experience is a plus but not required.
