Software Architect (Java)

Salary: $128,000 - 168,000 per year Requirements:

• Were looking for someone with 10+ years of Java development experience and a strong track record of architectural leadership in enterprise-scale SaaS environments.
• You should be able to steer the technical direction of a product domain and make high-impact architecture decisions independently.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven design at enterprise scale is essential.
• Youll need expert-level knowledge of Spring Boot 3.x and Java 17/21+, with an emphasis on scalable, enterprise-wide patterns.
• Strong experience with Oracle RDBMS and PL/SQL is required, including comfort moving from database-centric logic to service-oriented logic.
• You must be able to influence and align multiple engineering teams and stakeholders without being embedded in daily coding work.
• A proven history of leading legacy monolith migrations toward modern architectures such as microservices, strangler fig, or service-oriented architecture is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks, ideally Angular, is a plus.
• Experience defining AWS infrastructure strategy with ECS, RDS, and Lambda using Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, is preferred.
• Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC and multi-tenant isolation patterns, especially in sensitive HR data environments, is a plus.
• Experience designing high-concurrency systems with RabbitMQ or similar messaging platforms is desirable.
• You should be an exceptional communicator who can explain technical ideas clearly to business leaders.

• We want you to serve as the primary architectural authority for our HRIS domain and safeguard the technical integrity of the platform.
• You will partner with our Director of Engineering and Product Management to align architecture with business objectives and long-term platform stability.
• Youll create high-level designs, sequence diagrams, and interface definitions to guide five engineering teams through complex feature work.
• You will establish and maintain Golden Paths and shared libraries so our teams build in a consistent, unified direction.
• Youll lead architectural reviews and provide final technical approval for complex initiatives.
• You will mentor Lead and Senior Developers to ensure their solutions follow enterprise design standards.
• Youll define the standards for bringing AI-assisted tools and LLM capabilities into our SDLC, evaluating their impact on maintainability, security, and performance.
