Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Jacksonville, FL that is seeking a Senior Accountant.Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
• Analyze financial results and provide insights and recommendations
• Maintain and monitor internal controls and compliance procedures
• Research and apply accounting policies in accordance with GAAP
• Support audits and assist with audit documentation
• Develop and improve accounting processes, workflows, and SOPs
• Provide guidance on accounting and financial inquiries
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis as needed
• Support payroll, cash management, and transaction processing activities
• Assist with grants, contracts, or funding-related tracking and reporting (if applicable)
• Collaborate with leadership on special projects and process improvements
• May supervise or mentor junior accounting staff

Lead and support month-end close activities, including:

• General ledger reconciliations
• Journal entries
• Bank reconciliations
• Variance analysis

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience (3-5 years)
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with month-end close and general ledger processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
