Medical Receptionist

Beacon Health System is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you'll play a key role in creating an exceptional patient experience while supporting the daily operations of a busy healthcare practice.

Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
- Register patients, verify demographic information, and complete check-in/check-out processes.
- Schedule and confirm appointments while maintaining accurate patient records.
- Obtain and verify insurance information, authorizations, and precertifications.
- Process medical records requests in accordance with privacy regulations.
- Collect copays and patient payments, balancing daily transactions and deposits.
- Enter and review charges for services rendered.
- Answer phones, manage patient inquiries, and provide outstanding customer service.
- Support providers and clinical staff with general administrative and clerical duties.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure accurate documentation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in medical reception, patient registration, healthcare administration, customer service, or a related role preferred.
- Knowledge of medical scheduling, insurance verification, and electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computers and office software.
- Applicable certification or licensure may be considered in lieu of education or experience, where appropriate.
