Job Description: Evaluate and assess nutritional status of patients. Initiate medical nutrition therapy to achieve patient goals. Establish nutrition diagnosis and develop individualized plan of care with appropriate interventions. Re‑assess / Monitor patients to evaluate the effectiveness of medical nutrition therapy and adjust patient’s plan of care. Evaluate process towards goals. Accurately assess, prescribe and maintain nutritional interventions for enteral and parenteral supported patients. Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and timely discharge. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served including: newborn, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Serve as a resource lecturer for healthcare providers, students and the community. Precept dietetic interns for supervised practice experience. Quality: Compliance with all local, state, federal and medical centre regulatory, safety, sanitation, and security standards. Participate in performance improvement (PI) studies, assist with data collection and support action plans. Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Credentials, Licences: Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or a related field Registered Dietitian or RDE (RD Eligible) as defined by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Licensed as a dietitian / nutritionist by the State where work is being performed. Specialised Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age‑specific, population‑specific and diagnosis‑related care to patients. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
