  • The unit is a 44-bed adult medical-surgical oncology unit providing care for medical patients requiring acute oncology care, including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and complex monitoring.
  • Surgical patients include those recovering from laparoscopic and complex oncology surgeries such as Thyroidectomies, Gastrectomies, Adrenalectomies, Splenectomies, Liver resections, Bowel resections, Melanoma excisions, and Pancreaticoduodenectomies (Whipple procedure).
  • The unit is part of a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated cancer center and is ranked as a top hospital for cancer care according to U.S. News and World Report.
  • The organization offers oncology-based orientation, annual oncology enrichment classes, monthly educational inservices, and specialty training in chemotherapy administration and oncology care.
