Staff Clinician II - Campus Life and School of Medicine

Description This position will be part of the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) department within Campus Life, but focused primarily on fulfilling the mission of the School of Medicine (SOM) by fostering the intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and psychological wellbeing of students, and training healthcare professionals who provide high quality, compassionate care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will participate in a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to the clinical care of Emory SOM students. Supports the mental health and well-being needs of students in the SOM through a combination of community interventions, consultation, and clinical services. Specifically, this position will provide culturally competent assessments, crisis intervention, consultation, case management, community referrals, outreach programs and services, trainings, individual therapy, and group therapy. This position will be partially embedded in the SOM and will require some early morning, evening, and weekend work. Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A master's degree in a mental health profession (e.g., counseling, psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy), and five years of experience working in higher education, social work, counseling centers, or working with nursing students. Licensed or license-eligible for independent practice in a mental health discipline. Must be licensed in Georgia within one year of hire. Applicants must also have demonstrated the ability to maintain confidentiality of clients, students, faculty, and staff. In addition, applicants will have excellent clinical skills, experience working with full range of human diversity that includes a commitment to social justice and a strong investment in outreach work and community interventions that directly support the mission of the School of Medicine. NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
