Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU - Cardiac position at an acute care hospital in New Hampshire, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a cardiac focus at an acute care hospital
• Patient population includes cardiac diagnoses such as chest pain, syncope, heart failure, and cardioversions, as well as medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic overflow
• Specialized procedures include post-cath with stent (no CABG), ICD/pacemaker insertions, and cardioversions
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• Charting is done in Epic (experience required)
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating to similar units required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed but the unit will attempt to accommodate when possible
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license (NH state license required; pending license accepted)
• Current AHA or Red Cross certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• EKG test required upon arrival
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience with a strong PCU background within the last year
• Epic EMR experience required
• Professional references required (candidate may begin with one reference pending)
• First-time travelers accepted with 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency; first-time travelers with only 1 year of experience are not eligible

Additional Information

• Preferred skills include CPI, sheath removal, and care of ventilated patients
• Candidates who have ever been employed at any facility within the SolutionHealth system are not eligible for consideration, regardless of length of separation
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at the local pay rate
• Holiday coverage: if contracted during all three major winter holidays, at least two of the three must be worked; approved holiday time off is subject to unit availability
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
• Free parking on-site
