Join a dedicated laboratory team in a well-established regional healthcare setting in the Southeastern United States. This full-time role focuses on the precise analysis of laboratory specimens and timely reporting of results following strict laboratory protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on specimen acceptability, unusual or discrepant results, and instrument or method issues.
• Perform accurate testing of specimens according to established protocols.
• Report test results promptly and in compliance with laboratory standards.
• Maintain quality control procedures in line with CAP, JCAHO, and other regulatory requirements.
• Conduct routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Adhere to safety policies including universal precautions, fire safety, exposure protocols, and hazardous materials handling.
• Support a professional and courteous environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Assist with orientation and training of new laboratory staff and students.
• Perform phlebotomy as required.
• Provide coverage during Technical Specialist absences and float to other laboratory sites as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science with clinical training across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patient populations is required. MLS(ASCP) certification is mandatory.

Experience

No prior work experience is required; however, appropriate clinical training is essential.

• Effective communication skills, including verbal, written, and electronic methods.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform general physical activities such as bending, squatting, reaching, and carrying.
• Manual dexterity and clear verbal communication.
• Near visual acuity and color discernment.
• Potential exposure to blood or infectious materials.

Licenses and Certifications

MLS(ASCP) certification is required.
