Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Students who are offered and accepted into the GROW program participate with no upfront cost. After earning your certification or degree, you are guaranteed a full-time position at Penn State Health. Students are asked to maintain a full-time position for a minimum of one year following completion of the program. Failure to remain at Penn State Health for the one-year commitment will result in you having to pay back the amount the health system paid for your tuition.

Penn State Health will sponsor students currently enrolled in their last two semesters of the HACC LPN Program. Students must currently be enrolled in the HACC LPN Program and graduating in December 2027 to qualify.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the direction of a registered nurse or provider. The LPN will observe, report and record medical information and nursing care provided in the electronic medical record. The LPN will instruct patients and families according to the teaching plans. The LPN will communicate with the healthcare team to facilitate the coordination of individualized patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification
• Previous outpatient experience preferred
