Nighshift Chemistry Technologist

Labcorp seeks a Special Chemistry Technologist for nightshift work at its Portland laboratory. The role involves performing clinical chemistry procedures, operating laboratory instrumentation, ensuring specimen quality, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate specimen acceptability according to established testing criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures in special chemistry and immunochemistry
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper function
• Perform preventive maintenance, quality control, and document all procedures
• Report accurate and timely test results and prepare new reagents or controls

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Life Science or Medical Technology
• One year or more clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
• Pass standardized color blindness test
• ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking capability
