Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide expert care in our ICU units. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ICU patient management within a Level 1 Trauma Center, with flexibility to float to Step-Down ICU as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, and legal standards.
• Document patient care activities accurately according to care standards and protocols.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized care plans in coordination with physicians and patient/family needs.
• Participate in department performance improvement initiatives and support shared governance activities.
• Apply clinical expertise and guidance to support other units and departments in maintaining continuity of care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Illinois RN license and current CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with verification required.
• Possess significant ICU experience, preferably at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills concerning patient safety and quality of care.
• Exhibit excellent documentation and communication skills.
