Distribution Center Operations Lead

Distribution Center (DC) Team Lead | Academy Sports + Outdoors The Tone: This is a full-time leadership role at Academy Sports + Outdoors, located within a Distribution Center. This role is essential for guiding daily distribution center operations, ensuring products are received, handled, and shipped accurately, and directly supporting the company’s ability to meet customer expectations and business goals. The TL;DR Role: Full Time Type: Full-time Location: In-person, Distribution Center Team: Leads and coaches distribution center team members and collaborates with cross-functional partners. Mission: Guides daily distribution center operations to ensure efficient and accurate product flow from receiving to shipping. Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, Excel, warehouse systems What You'll Actually Do Lead Daily Operations: Lead and guide daily distribution center operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow, contributing directly to business goals and customer satisfaction. Manage Workflow Efficiency: Oversee detailed workflows across receiving, storage, and shipping areas, prioritizing safety, quality, and productivity standards. Develop Team Members: Coach, provide hands-on support, and facilitate the development of distribution center team members throughout their shifts, building trust and maintaining clear communication for productivity. Address Operational Issues: Adjust priorities in real-time and actively resolve operational challenges, ensuring continuous movement and progress within the fast-paced environment. Foster Cross-functional Alignment: Collaborate with cross-functional partners across the distribution center to ensure consistent product flow and promptly address any operational issues, coordinating efforts for overall efficiency. The Must-Haves Background: High school diploma or G.E.D. Experience: Minimum 1 year of related work experience. Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and warehouse systems; strong communication across listening, speaking, and writing; ability to collaborate effectively with operations teams; analytical skills; operate powered industrial trucks (with required certification if applicable).
