Aerospace Shop Technician
Works in the aerospace industry applying coating to turbine engine components to provide erosion and corrosion protection. The Shop Technician will primarily prepare parts to receive coating.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Abrade metal surfaces to remove light scale and impart a surface finish sufficient for parts to receive a coating
- Mask specified areas of parts to protect from abrading before coating
- Examine blasted parts to ensure conformance to process requirements
- Service and maintenance of machinery by company and manufacturers' procedures
- Follow instructions per traveler
- Load and unload the ovens
- Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment
- Maintains records and logs as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability: Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
Mathematical Ability: Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide with 10's and 100's. Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment:
Working indoors; working around machinery with moving parts; and working near others.
Physical Demands:
Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Ability to lift and manipulate 50 lbs.
$16 to $18 D.O.E.
