This role does not require call or block scheduling. Candidates within a 50-mile radius will not be considered. The emergency department has 34 beds and serves a diverse patient population, from neonates to geriatrics. The average daily visits to the emergency department are approximately 100. Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis systems is expected. There is a triage area and telemetry available within the unit. Responsibilities may include performing conscious sedation and triaging patients. NIH/Stroke Certifications are a requirement for this role. Candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, CPI, and PALS certifications. Travelers may be expected to float to areas with similar or lower acuity as needed. While previous charge experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. The expected patient ratios during shifts range from 5 to 6 patients. The role supports various interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Patient diagnoses will vary significantly, requiring adaptability and strong assessment skills. The position necessitates the management of a variety of emergency medical situations and conditions. Experience in handling mental and behavioral health conditions is also critical.
