Job Title Multimedia Coordinator Position Type Professional / Unclassified – Full-time Department Strategic Communications, LSUA Chancellor's Office Reports To Assistant Vice Chancellor of Strategic Communications Job Summary The Multimedia Coordinator collaborates with campus partners to develop video, photography, and visual media assets that promote LSU of Alexandria’s mission, strengthen brand presence, support enrollment growth, and showcase campus culture. The role involves production, post‑production, and oversight of media content and guidance of the university media team. Key Responsibilities Operate photo, audio, and video production equipment for audiovisual projects. Produce all video content, including filming and post‑production to support the LSUA brand. Develop proof of concept, scope, brief, coordinate production and review schedules, script, edit, and deliver media assets for LSUA communications initiatives. Create and distribute collateral for advertisements and other deliverables. Work closely with Strategic Communications team members on multiple projects, meeting specific timelines. Monitor digital activity, blogs, groups, articles, social media insights, and analytics. Evaluate emerging technologies and provide thought leadership for adoption where appropriate. Create and edit content for social media channels and the LSUA website in coordination with the Communications Coordinator and Web Content Coordinator. Provide direction, coordination, and oversight for the university media team to enhance visual media content throughout the Division of Strategic Communications and the university. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Communication, Graphic Design, Journalism, Digital Design, or related field preferred. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro, or equivalent video editing programs. Ability to operate a DSLR camera and possess general photography and photo‑editing skills. Knowledge of graphic design theory. Proficiency in social media application management. Familiarity with digital and social media advertising preferred. Strong aptitude for learning new software applications and identifying tech tools for organizational needs. Attention to detail and capacity to proofread effectively with minimal direction. Ability to meet deadlines, organize, and balance short‑ and long‑term projects while prioritizing daily tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Hours & Salary Hours: Eight (8) hours per day, Monday‑Friday – 40 hours a week. Additional hours as warranted by projects and initiatives.Salary: Starting pay of $38,000‑$55,000, commensurate with experience. Eligible for merit and equity increases.
