Emergency Department RN

Schedule

48-hour guaranteed work schedule with every other weekend required.

Assignment Details

This position is in a large, high-acuity emergency department with a daily census of approximately 165 to 175 patients.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in emergency nursing.
• Travel experience is required; candidates should have a minimum of 3 ER travel contracts.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records is necessary.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications are required.
• Preferred experience includes prior charge experience and Trauma ED experience (Level I/II).
• Active nursing license in the state or compact license is required at the time of submission.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity emergency care to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
• Perform triage, manage airway including intubation, and administer IV vasopressors and blood products.
• Conduct procedural sedation and manage psychiatric holds/behavioral emergencies.
• Interpret dysrhythmias, STEMI, and stroke care protocols.
• Assist with advanced skills such as central line care, chest tube management, and arterial line interpretation.

Compliance / Notes

All requested time off (RTO) must be finalized at submission; a maximum of 7 days is allowed per contract. Major holiday work may be required, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day. Orientation is set for 24 hours, and compliance documentation is due prior to the start date.
