Job Description

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, and coordination of care for children with developmental, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental challenges and their families.

Location: DBP Clinic 570 Longpoint Road, Mt Pleasant, SC

Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, no weekend or evening coverage.

Required Education:

Master's degree in social work from an accredited program.

Required Licensure:

Current South Carolina LMSW-CP or LISW license. LISW-CP preferred. LMSW candidates pursuing independent clinical licensure are encouraged to apply.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assessment: Conduct evaluations of patients and families to identify needs, barriers, and strengths related to developmental, behavioral, and emotional health.
• Treatment: Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions including counseling, psychoeducation, behavioral support, and brief therapeutic services for children and families.
• Coordination of Care: Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, nurses, therapists, educators, and external providers to ensure integrated, family-centered care. Help families navigate systems such as schools, Medicaid, and disability services.
• Advocate for patients and families by facilitating referrals to community resources and support services.
• Document services and communications in accordance with MUSC policies, licensing standards, and HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in team conferences, diagnostic evaluations, and care planning sessions.
• Support program development and outreach initiatives within the community.

Physical Requirements:

Continuous requirements are to work indoors; possess good finger dexterity; maintain tactile sensory functions; maintain 20/40 vision corrected in one eye or with both eyes; maintain good peripheral vision capabilities; and maintain hearing acuity with correction.

Frequent requirements are to perform job functions while standing/upright, sitting, and walking/mobile; fully use both hands and arms; perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders; perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements; reach in all directions; see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance; match or discriminate between colors; determine distance and relationship between objects including depth perception; and hear and/or understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet.

Infrequent requirements are to kneel and squat to perform job functions; perform pinching operations; lift and carry 15 lbs. unassisted; lift objects up to 15 lbs. from floor level to a height of 36 inches unassisted; and push or pull objects up to 15 lbs. unassisted.
