Title: RN – Medical Surgical (Med/Surg)

Location: New York, New York

Duration: 13 Weeks (High possibility of extension)

Schedule: Day Shift | Monday–Friday

Weekly Hours: 37.5 Hours

Position Overview:

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in an acute care hospital setting. The RN will perform patient assessments, administer medications, manage post-operative care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans

• Provide direct bedside nursing care to medical and surgical patients

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses

• Start and manage IV therapy

• Perform wound care and infection control procedures

• Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status

• Change dressings, insert catheters, and manage medical equipment

• Provide post-operative nursing care

• Educate patients and families regarding treatments and recovery plans

• Collaborate with healthcare teams on discharge planning

• Maintain accurate patient documentation and medical records

• Follow nursing standards, hospital policies, and patient safety protocols

Required Qualifications:

• Active New York State RN License

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN)

• AHA BLS Certification

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience

• Recent acute care hospital experience within the last year

• Strong skills in physical assessment

• Medication administration experience

• IV therapy experience

• Wound care and infection control experience

• Post-operative patient care experience

• Telemetry monitoring experience

• Strong communication and patient education skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• EPIC EMR experience

• Experience in large acute care hospital settings
