Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: Dallas, TX

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM

Job Description: The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our compassionate team. As an RN, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working with a diverse patient population. You will be responsible for managing cardiac drips, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor patients post CABG, AVR/MVR, aortic root repairs, LVAD placements, and VATS.
• Perform bedside procedures including paracentesis, thoracentesis, and PICC insertion.
• Administer medications, cardiac drips, and telemetry monitoring.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, as well as with the interdisciplinary team.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Active RN license in the state of Texas.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in a Progressive Care Unit.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac drips, including Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, and Cardizem.
• Ability to work a minimum of 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule.
