About This Job

As a Patient Care Assistant, you play a vital role in supporting our patients and healthcare team. You provide direct, compassionate care, ensuring patient comfort and well-being. This position is essential for creating a positive and safe environment, directly contributing to the quality of life for those we serve. You act as a key point of contact, assisting with daily needs and observing changes that impact patient health.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care, assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Monitors and records vital signs accurately, reporting any significant changes or concerns to nursing staff promptly.
Communicates effectively and compassionately with patients, their families, and the healthcare team, providing updates and gathering information.
Adheres strictly to Infection Control protocols, maintaining a clean and safe environment to prevent the spread of illness.
Documents patient care activities, observations, and vital signs thoroughly and accurately in electronic health records.
Ensures Patient Safety by following established procedures, assisting with transfers, and maintaining a hazard-free environment.
Upholds HIPAA Compliance by protecting patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Required Qualifications
Education

Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Demonstrates prior experience in a healthcare support role or related field is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

Holds current CPR Certification.
Exhibits strong Empathy and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Understands and applies principles of HIPAA Compliance.
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Shows ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Demonstrates keen observational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Completes a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or equivalent training.
Possesses experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions

Requires ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
Involves frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds.
Works in a fast-paced clinical environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases.
Performs tasks requiring manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
