Dental Assistant - 31341We are currently looking for a Full Time Dental Assistant to join our Dental Specialty Operations Group team located at the Ardmore Health Clinic working 7:30AM-6:00PM - Tu We Th Fr.Summary: Provides clinical, clerical, and technical support within the Chickasaw Nation Dental Clinic.Responsibilities:Prepares patients for procedures and assists dentists during examinations and treatmentsPerforms coronal polishing and applies fluoride under a dentist's directionTakes dental x-rays, ensuring imaging meets diagnostic quality and safety standardsMaintains proper infection control, including instrument sterilization and asepsisAssists in the preparation, setup, and turnover of operatories between proceduresEducates patients on oral hygiene and provide preventative care instructionsReiterates treatment plans and provide post-treatment care instructionsAssists with scheduling referrals and managing the patient phone boardInputs and documents patient data in the Electronic Medical Record, including superbill coding and scribing progress notesMaintains operatory cleanliness and ensure all supplies are adequately restockedProvides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiencyCompletes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunitiesWorks in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all typesMaintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environmentMaintains and promotes professionalismPunctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metricsAdheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standardsMaintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned areaPerforms all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Able to follow instructions, both written and oralAble to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirementsHonesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountabilityAble to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelinesWorking knowledge of dental terminologyAbility to proofread for spelling, grammar, and formatting errors and make appropriate modificationsKnowledge of relevant privacy regulations such as The Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and managementSkills:Intermediate computer skillsExperience:1 year directly related experienceEducation:High School, GED or EquivalentCredentials:Pass general background checkBasic Life Support (BLS)Radiation Safety PermitPit and Fissure Sealant CertificationMust obtain BLS certification within 30 days of employmentRadiation Safety & Protection certification must be obtained within 30 days of employmentPit & Fissure Sealants certification must be obtained within the first year of employmentWorking Conditions:Works in a hospital or clinic environmentFast-paced environmentSitting up to 25% of shiftStanding up to 50% of shiftWalking up to 25% of shiftFrequently bend, kneel, stoop, push, reachSometimes lift and or carry up to 50 lbsMay be required to assist individuals who are hostile, agitated or under the influenceSubject to traveling and working at other locations or in other environmentsPotential exposure to contagious diseasesPass pre-employment drug testTraining:It is the responsibility of each employee to attend required training for their position or profession as determined by their line of support (LOS) or the leadership of the Chickasaw Nation.
