Busser / Service AssistantLegends Global at the Del Mar Fairgrounds & Racetrack is looking for Bussers and Food Runners/ Assistants to work the 2026 Summer Fair and Live Meet Horseracing season from June 10th through September 6th. Qualified candidates must be available to attend orientation and training shifts as assigned.Responsible for assisting the Restaurant, Servers and Kitchen in a variety of support tasks. Must be confident, flexible, self-motivated, and embrace participation as the key ingredient to exceptional service.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCompleting opening / closing proceduresCreate and maintain a good working relationship with the servers and guests.Check on customer satisfaction and refer information to servers, hostess or manager.Meet and Greet guests when necessaryClear food and beverages with the ability to carry multiple plates at a timeRe-set dining room tables for meals with linens, silverware, and glassware when necessaryRestock beverages, utensils or condiments.Fill all salt, pepper, sugar, condiments, and napkin containersFold clean tablecloths and napkins and make sure all tables are clean and organizedBasic service of water, bread, butter and condiments may be required to assist servers.Cleaning and clearing spills in the public areasQualificationsAbility to follow instruction and abide by guidelinesAdhere to the proper safety guidelines and trainingMust be able to converse with the customer in a clear and professional manner.Must come to work full of energy and a positive attitudeDynamic & outgoing personality with enthusiasm is keyYou are generous with praise, quick to smileAlways on the lookout for the positive in a situationYou enjoy the challenge of talking to strangers and getting them to like youDetail oriented and solves problems quicklyCommunicating clearly and effectively with guests and co-workersMaintain a neat, clean, professional imageMust be able to carry a tray with a minimum weight of 40 pounds over shoulderPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
