AP Specialist - part time

Job Title Accounts Payable Specialist (Part-Time Contract) Location Charlotte, NC Pay $26–28/hour (flexibility based on experience) Benefits This position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits, depending on individual selections and applicable work‑hour factors. Job Description Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to assist with high-volume invoice processing and vendor support activities. This role will play a key part in maintaining smooth AP operations while the team continues adapting to a recently implemented ERP system and onboarding new staff members. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, communicative, and comfortable managing a large invoice workload in a deadline‑driven environment. Key Responsibilities Process a high volume of invoices on a daily basis with accuracy and efficiency Review invoices for proper approvals, documentation, and payment processing Support both PO and non-PO invoice workflows Communicate with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and account updates Assist with vendor setup and payment method maintenance, including ACH and EFT information Perform payment matching and batch processing activities Reconcile vendor statements and assist with aging report accuracy Support month-end AP activities and audit documentation requests Assist with annual 1099 preparation and reporting Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice and payment issues Contribute to process improvement initiatives and cross-functional support as needed Qualifications 2–5 years of Accounts Payable experience Experience handling high-volume invoice processing environments (100+ invoices daily) Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently Proficiency with Excel Experience with Workday is strongly preferred Stable work history and demonstrated interest in AP-focused work Additional Details 6-month contract with potential extension Part-time schedule: Tuesday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Fully onsite during scheduled workdays Business casual office environment Collaborative and team-oriented culture Perks Competitive hourly compensation Opportunity to gain experience within a growing industry Exposure to ERP system implementation and process improvement initiatives Positive and supportive workplace environment Flexible contract opportunity with potential for extension Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
