Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830–$1,930
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse assignment

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Daily Census: Approximately 32 patients
• Charting System: Epic experience preferred

Travel RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in an emergency department, emergency observation or holding unit, or medical-surgical/telemetry setting
• Previous emergency department experience must be demonstrated in the work history
• Current Registered Nurse license valid in Ohio or a valid compact-state RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Experience caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Strong telemetry, emergency observation, and acute-care assessment skills
• Ability to provide two professional references, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
• Ability to complete required credentialing and fingerprinting promptly before the assignment begins

Emergency Observation RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in an emergency observation setting
• Perform focused and comprehensive assessments, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage patients requiring telemetry, oxygen therapy, noninvasive airway support, or high-flow nasal cannula
• Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, insulin protocols, and prescribed cardiac or vasoactive infusions according to policy
• Manage peripheral and central lines, PICC lines, ports, chest tubes, surgical drains, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, and wound care needs
• Provide care for patients with conditions including trauma, stroke, renal failure, seizure disorders, cardiac dysrhythmias, and respiratory compromise
• Assist with procedural sedation monitoring, IV starts, phlebotomy, and other emergency or acute-care procedures
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rehabilitation services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation and communicate effectively during handoffs and transitions of care
• Respond to rapid changes in patient status and participate in emergency response and code team activities as needed
