Laboratory - Medical Lab Technician

Laboratory Technologist (MLT/MT) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night Shift, must rotate weekends.

The Laboratory Technologist (MLT or MT) works under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, responsible for performing laboratory tests and reporting results for diagnosing, treating, and monitoring diseases. This role assists in laboratory operations, quality assurance, and maintenance of equipment. The technologist will adhere to the mission and values of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory tests across various areas such as hematology, immunohematology, and bacteriology following established protocols.
• Conduct phlebotomies, including arterial punctures, capillary and venipunctures as appropriate.
• Process specimens and ensure proper calibration and maintenance of instruments.
• Perform quality control and preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments and reagents.
• Validate and report results of tests in a timely manner.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory policy and procedural manuals.
• Teach and orient students and new employees.
• Stay informed about safety practices and ensure compliance with safety policies.
• Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with patients, families, and coworkers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Certification or eligibility for certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is required.
• Knowledge of medical technology principles and laboratory techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
