Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant Responsibilities The Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties that assist in the delivery of effective patient care within the assigned area. Greets patients, escorts them to the exam room, and performs vitals and other related MA duties. Demonstrates knowledge of medical practice and patient care as it relates to the clinical setting and medical specialty. Adheres to policies and procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety. Qualifications Job Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program. Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Must hold current or obtain within three (3) months of hire. Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Preferred Job Requirements: Completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited institution. Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
