Senior Cyber Security Engineer (Remote - California)

Accountabilities

• Harden internal and external systems to minimize vulnerability and protect against cyber threats
• Evaluate, implement, and maintain security technologies and architectures in collaboration with technical teams
• Conduct security audits and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards
• Develop reporting and remediation strategies for identified vulnerabilities or misconfigurations
• Document and maintain security architecture, policies, standards, and procedures
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, providing guidance and support to affected teams
• Assist Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) teams with vendor risk management and regulatory adherence
• Monitor emerging threats, trends, and technologies to inform proactive security strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field
• 4-6 years of experience in a cybersecurity engineering role
• Strong understanding of cloud security, particularly AWS architectures and services
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, PAM, and DLP
• Hands-on experience with threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and incident response
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or other scripting languages is a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Passion for cybersecurity and a desire to continuously expand knowledge and certifications
