Paraeducator IV - Behavioral Support Anticipated start date: August 26, 2026 Monday – Thursday: 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. (includes one 15‑minute paid break and one 30‑minute unpaid meal break) Friday: 8:45 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. (includes one 15‑minute paid break) Weekly working hours: 31 Wage: $28.36 – $32.88 per hour Position Summary: Under the direction of a certificated teacher, the Paraeducator IV – Behavioral Program Assistant provides specialized instructional support for students with behavioral challenges requiring a high degree of positive contact with students in a variety of learning environments both on and off campus. The role frequently assists with implementation of behavior intervention plans and receives direct supervision within a framework of defined policies and procedures. Qualifications At least eighteen (18) years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Meet one of the following: Pass a Paraeducator assessment approved by the Paraeducator Board. Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Earn 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university. Complete an apprenticeship as a paraeducator in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council. Upon hire, provide a copy of a high‑school diploma or transcripts, and official post‑secondary transcripts. Benefits Insurance: eligible for medical, dental, vision, long‑term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance (assignment anticipated to work at least 630 hours per year). Retirement Plans: eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan. Paid Holidays: up to 13 paid holidays per year, depending on start and end dates. Paid Time Off: employees working 12 months per year earn 12 days of paid vacation per school year; those working 237‑260 days per year earn 12 days of sick leave; up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year.
