This opportunity will be located in Warren, Rhode Island.Position Summary: The Quality Inspector performs visual and dimensional inspections on machined components utilized in the assembly of Aerospace and Industrial seals. Using various handheld and benchtop measurement equipment this position ensures compliance to both internal and customer dimensional requirements. The candidate will be responsible for generating and completing appropriate documentation such as dimensional inspection records, production routers, and non-conformance reports.Essential Functions:Performs Incoming, In-Process, and Final Inspections on Machine PartsAbility to interpret blueprints, work instructions, and other customer and industry specificationsUnderstands geometric symbols and tolerancesUse of standard measurement gages such as calipers, micrometer, drop indicators, etc.Ensure both dimensional and visual compliance to internal and customer standardsAdheres to Quality systems procedures and submits discrepancy reports / material review requests when problems are foundEvaluate MagSeal's product specifications and examine them to meet customer requirementsGood understanding of GD&T with a clear understanding of its intentFollow prescribed Quality Work instructions and utilize equipment as directedDiscusses inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommends corrective actionsNotifies supervisor and other personnel of production problems, and assists in identifying and correcting these problemsDiscards or rejects product, materials, and equipment not meeting the specificationsVerify raw material lot number traceabilityResponsible for storing and handling all Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) appropriately to prevent unauthorized access, dissemination, or use of this information or documentationSupport all visitor and security policies to protect ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI information, documents, product, etc. from unauthorized access by informing management immediately of any concernsResponsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in employee's work areaPerforms other duties as assignedRequired Skills & Qualifications:Acts in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignmentBackground in mechanical Engineering with Basic CAD understandingAbility to read and understand technical drawings (blueprints)Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, ERP Systems, Document Control and other databasesDirect technical skills in reference to the equipment in the cellAssures all work is processed in a swift and timely fashion with high quality resultDemonstrates a safety first thought processPerform work accurately and thoroughlyCommunicate effectively with others both verbally and in written formMake decisions while following company proceduresUse critical thinking and reasoning to solve problemsAttention to details, accepts responsibility and adapts to change easilyDemonstrate honesty, integrity and conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standardsAble to work independently with minimal supervisor and work and interact well with others when working in teamsPossesses strong self-motivation and processes work in an efficient and timely fashionRequired Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredAt least one (1) year of continuous, professional experience in Quality is requiredPhysical Requirements:Able to stand, walk and sit frequentlyMust be able to bend, squat and kneel occasionallyMust be able to reach outward frequentlyMust be able to reach above shoulder occasionallyMust be able to use fine manipulation frequentlyAble to handle and grasp tools/equipment and products repetitivelyFinger dexterity to rotate parts constantlyAble to read and write in EnglishMust be able to lift/carry up to 20 lbs. frequentlyMust be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. occasionallyMust be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs. occasionallyVisual Acuity – Able to see close detail, distance and colors constantlyMay come into contact with chemicalsWork Environment and Safety Equipment Required:Manufacturing shop and inspection lab environment with open floor space; may be noisy at times and is climate-controlledAble to work onsite per business needs and per employee's standard hoursAble to wear required Personal Protective Equipment constantlyITAR/EAR Compliance: This position requires access to export-controlled information and/or hardware, and candidates must be U.S. Persons that comply with all U.S. Export control laws and regulation.
