Position Title

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator

Job Summary

The HSE Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by implementing company safety policies, conducting inspections, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing safety training. This role supports the company's commitment to protecting employees, clients, and the environment while minimizing workplace risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports.
• Maintain OSHA compliance and ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct new hire safety orientations and ongoing safety training.
• Monitor employee compliance with PPE requirements and safe work practices.
• Develop and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures, drills, and evacuation plans.
• Maintain safety records, training documentation, inspections, and incident logs.
• Assist with workers' compensation and return-to-work programs.
• Promote a positive safety culture through employee engagement and safety meetings.
• Work with supervisors and management to resolve safety concerns promptly.
• Recommend improvements to reduce workplace injuries and environmental impacts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification required or preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk job sites for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Experience

• 2–5 years of HSE or safety experience.
• Experience in construction, industrial, manufacturing, logistics, or staffing environments.
• Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and compliance inspections.
