Manufacturing Accountant

Join us.Itron is seeking an accounting professional to support the North America (NAM) manufacturing accounting functions. Reporting to the manager responsible for these areas, this role assists with maintaining an accurate control environment, supporting SOX compliance, and applying U.S. GAAP policies and procedures. The position works collaboratively with accounting and cross-functional partners and contributes to operational excellence, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen our customer‑centric, innovative, and collaborative culture.Duties and Responsibilities:Support the daily operations of NAM inventory and royalty accounting, including preparing general ledger entries, reconciliations, and reports.Follow established work direction and project guidance, communicate progress, and seek feedback to build capability and accountability.Complete assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities accurately and on time in alignment with the global close calendar using Oracle ERP and EPM tools.Apply established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, and corporate standards.Maintain accurate, well-documented accounting records and control evidence, applying sound judgment, attention to detail, and operational discipline.Develop knowledge of U.S. GAAP requirements related to inventory, excesses and obsolescence, inventory costing methodologies, and royalties and communicate potential issues or impacts to the manager and relevant stakeholders.As part of the annual audit process, assist with preparing quarterly audit deliverables by providing complete, accurate, and auditable documentation and responding to ad hoc requests.Collaborate with accounting, cross-functional teams, and external partners to support business initiatives and deliver customer-focused outcomes.Participate in continuous-improvement and process-automation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and support digital transformation.Assist with the preparation of supporting schedules and documentation for SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q.Build accounting knowledge and contribute to a culture of innovation, authenticity, agility, and collaboration.Required Skills & Experience:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Consistent commitment to ethical conduct, professional judgment, and integrity.Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal‑control design.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.Highly collaborative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the agility to navigate evolving priorities in a dynamic environment.Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while delivering high‑quality, customer‑centric outcomes.Continuous‑improvement mindset with the ability to adopt new technologies and develop innovative accounting solutions that support transformation initiatives.Preferred Skills & Experience:Experience with manufacturing processes, inventory accounting (including excess and obsolescence), inventory costing methodologies, and royalty accounting.CPA or equivalent professional certification.Experience with ERP and consolidation systems, especially Oracle EBS, subledger transactions, and EPM Cloud.Experience with complementary financial tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Power Automate, or Noetix WebQuery.Travel: 0-10%Benefits Info:This position also includes a competitive benefit package including; financial, social, health and wellbeing programs, paid vacation, 401k matching, employee stock purchase program, hybrid work schedule, and more!Pay Transparency Info:Liberty Lake, WA: The base salary is $78,000 – $130,000.Physical Demands:This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.#LI-MD1Itron is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and providing an authentic workplace experience for all employees.
