Substitute Custodian

BCTC has an ongoing need for day-to-day substitute custodians at our East (Oley) and West (Leesport) campuses. Ideal applicant will be a team player and possess the skills and knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning processes. Qualifications include: High school diploma or GED, knowledge and skills to operate industrial rated cleaning equipment, ability to maintain a clean and safe building and grounds, good communication/interpersonal skills and general knowledge of a computer email system. Candidate must be at least 21 years of age and be willing to complete a child abuse (Act 151), criminal (Act 34), FBI clearance check (Act 114) and a School Personnel Health Record prior to the first day of employment. Position Goal

Professionally fulfill the goals and objectives of the school as prescribed by the Berks Career & Technology Center Joint Operating Committee. Perform the job responsibilities for the assigned position.

Performance

Responsibilities: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:

I. General A. Report to the main office upon arrival at the school for an orientation and training, as necessary. B. Assume the day-to-day responsibilities of the staff member for which (s)he is serving as a substitute. The applicable position description and other pertinent information will be provided to the substitute upon arrival. C. Maintain, as fully as possible, the established routines and procedures of the position to which assigned. D. Maintain a safe and secure environment at all times and immediately report any injury, accident or illnesses to the appropriate authority. E. Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information. F. Communicate, collaborate and cooperate with colleagues, supervisors and students. G. Follow non-discriminatory practices in all activities. H. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance. I. Perform other related duties or tasks as assigned by the supervisor and/or designee.
