Boat Detailer

Job Summary

The Boat Detailer thoroughly cleans and details boats before they are returned or delivered to customers. This position also supports the upkeep of the detail area and performs janitorial duties one full day each week.

Essential Duties

• Clean and detail boats to prepare them for final delivery to customers.
• Operate a forklift to move boats to and from the detail dock.
• Use required safety equipment and follow hazardous waste disposal procedures.
• Maintain detail department tools and equipment. Keep the work area organized and return supplies and equipment to their designated locations.
• Perform janitorial work in the main office and service department one full day each week.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the business.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the Galey’s Marine team.
• Appropriate clothing

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work takes place in a shop environment and outdoors. The position may require reaching above and below shoulder level; kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping; and lifting or carrying objects over 50 pounds. Employees may be exposed to fumes, chemicals, dust, loud noise, and changing weather conditions. Occasional seated work may also be required.
