Role and Responsibilities: As an HVAC Mechanic/Journeyman, you will play a critical role in leading and executing various mechanical contracting projects. Your expertise and hands-on experience will ensure the successful completion of projects while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The primary role of the HVAC Mechanic/Journeyman is installing heating and air conditioning equipment and sheet metal systems in commercial and industrial buildings on large scale projects. Key responsibilities include:

1. Project Execution: Lead and participate in the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal systems for diverse projects.
2. Technical Expertise: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure all work meets or exceeds established standards.
3. Supervision and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and helpers, fostering their skill development and contributing to a positive work environment.
4. Scheduling and Coordination: Collaborate with project managers to plan and schedule tasks, allocate resources, and ensure projects are completed within established timelines.
5. Quality Control: Enforce strict adherence to industry codes, safety protocols, and company quality standards, maintaining exceptional workmanship at all times.
6. Problem Solving: Identify and address technical challenges and obstacles during projects, implementing effective solutions to ensure project progress.
7. Client Interaction: Maintain clear communication with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders, providing updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
8. Documentation: Accurately document work performed, including progress reports, time sheets, material usage, and any other relevant records.
9. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and operational efficiencies, sharing insights and recommendations with the management team.

Qualifications:

• Valid journeyman license/certification in the relevant trade (HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal, etc.) from an accredited school preferred. (All licenses to be current with Virginia DPOR).
• OSHA 10 Certificate preferred.
• Current first aid and CPR training preferred.
• 5+ years proven experience as a licensed journeyman in the mechanical contracting industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, installation methods, industry codes, and regulations.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment for mechanical work.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, with clean driving record.
• Ability to pass drug screenings,
• Ability to pass background checks, obtain security clearances and work on jobsites where minor children are present.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and environments and/or extended work hours (nights/weekends) as necessary.
