The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in California is $60.00 to $70.00 hourly .  The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. 

We are looking for Part-Time Certified Speech Therapist, flexible on shift. 

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates patients to determine functional deficits, rehabilitation potential, and appropriate occupational therapy interventions.
• Develops, establishes, and implements individualized speech therapy treatment plans based upon physician orders, patient needs, and clinical findings.
• Performs comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognition, communication, voice, motor speech, oral motor function, and swallowing abilities as appropriate.
• Provides skilled speech therapy treatment in accordance with the established plan of care and accepted standards of practice.
• Provides timely written documentation per facility and department requirements to meet licensing, certification, regulatory, reimbursement requirements, and physician treatment plans.
• Monitors patient progress and modifies treatment plans as appropriate to maximize functional outcomes.
• Reassesses patients as required and completes progress notes, recertifications, discharge summaries, and other required documentation.
• Communicates with physicians regarding patient progress, changes in condition, recommendations, and treatment modifications as appropriate. 
• Collaborates with nursing staff, rehabilitation personnel, physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Assesses and provides recommendations regarding swallowing safety, diet consistency, compensatory strategies, and aspiration precautions as clinically appropriate.
• Develops restorative nursing recommendations and communicates appropriate carryover programs to nursing staff.
• Provides education and training to patients, families, caregivers, and staff regarding communication strategies, cognitive strategies, swallowing safety, and other areas within the scope of speech therapy.
• Participates in interdisciplinary care plan meetings and discharge planning conferences as requested.
• Coordinates treatment goals with other rehabilitation disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintains productivity and service delivery standards established by the rehabilitation department and facility.
• Supports department quality improvement initiatives by participating in audits, performance improvement activities, and clinical program development.
• Ensures therapy treatment areas and equipment are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Maintains compliance with infection control procedures, universal precautions, and safety protocols during all patient interactions.
• Maintains awareness of current speech-language pathology practices, regulatory requirements, Medicare guidelines, and professional standards applicable to skilled nursing facilities. 

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Council for Clinical Certification in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CFCC).
• Current and unrestricted licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or otherwise meets applicable California licensure requirements.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (to be maintained as active and in good standing).
• Must possess a working knowledge of Medicare and other payor sources.
• Bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders, speech-language pathology, psychology, education, or a related health science field preferred, but not necessary.
