Material Handler

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

• Reviews production orders and works closely with Production Leadperson to establish priorities for the day.
• Assists with ensuring machines have rubber to complete scheduled work. Replaces rubber supply as needed.
• Moves rollers from the Prep department to Build. Coordinates with Leadperson and Roll Builders to stage rollers in a sequence that makes sense per the schedule.
• Breaks down and disposes of boxes when rubber is depleted. Operates the corrugated bailer to dispose of cardboard daily.
• Helps to load and unload machines as required to keep machines functioning. Loads finished rollers directly into the autoclave.
• Unloads the autoclave at the start of every day. Works with Leadperson to determine the order to unload and where to place the rollers.
• Helps ensure the rubber storage room and rubber roller area are organized, clean, and clutter-free.
• Able to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
• Follows best safety practices and always wears appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Maintains consistent attendance.

Education and Experience

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years material handling experience preferred.

• Has strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrates a sound balance between quality and quantity of work while maintaining a sense of urgency towards completion.
• Able to read and understand work orders.
• Has excellent time management skills. Proficient with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines.
• Communicates information in speaking so that others will understand.
• Able to drive a forklift, use overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment
• Works well in a team setting.

Physical Requirements

Constantly required to stand, walk, reach, bend, twist, and use both hands for simple and gross grasping and fine manipulation. Frequently required to squat. Occasionally required to sit. Must be able to see details at far and close ranges. May occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
