Position Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks to fill a Staff Network Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU). This position is located in Aurora, CO. Responsibilities In this role, the successful candidate will design and plan network communication systems and provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. The candidate must be able to troubleshoot and isolate network faults and failures in a LAN/WAN environment and provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selections, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. This candidate will have to maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, etc., and evaluate and report on new communication technologies to enhance the capabilities of the network. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years; 14+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement. Active TS/SCI with an adjudicated full‑scope polygraph at time of application. Security+ certification. Minimum 20% travel. Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, etc. Wide Area Network subject‑matter expert. Experience with designing additions to a large network. Preferred Qualifications Firewall hardware and software knowledge, administration, management and modifications. CISCO router and switch hardware and software knowledge. COMSEC equipment knowledge. Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, etc. Linux and Windows knowledge. Salary Range Primary level salary range: $161,000.00 – $241,400.00. The above range is a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Benefits Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Vice‑President or Director positions may be eligible for long‑term incentives.
