Senior Mechanical / HVAC Engineer (8+ Years)

A well-established engineering consulting firm in the White Plains area is seeking a Senior Mechanical / HVAC Engineer with 8+ years of experience to lead and support building system design projects across commercial, institutional, and mixed-use developments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and engineering of HVAC systems for new construction and renovation projects
• Perform heating/cooling load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selection
• Prepare construction documents, specifications, and technical reports
• Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing teams
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs
• Provide construction phase support, site visits, and troubleshooting
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to project planning and scheduling

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 8+ years of HVAC design experience in an MEP consulting environment
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or ability to obtain)
• Strong knowledge of NYS codes, ASHRAE standards, and energy compliance
• Experience with commercial, healthcare, education, or multi-family projects
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit (BIM experience a plus)
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
