Senior Mechanical / HVAC Engineer (8+ Years)
A well-established engineering consulting firm in the White Plains area is seeking a Senior Mechanical / HVAC Engineer with 8+ years of experience to lead and support building system design projects across commercial, institutional, and mixed-use developments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and engineering of HVAC systems for new construction and renovation projects
- Perform heating/cooling load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selection
- Prepare construction documents, specifications, and technical reports
- Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing teams
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs
- Provide construction phase support, site visits, and troubleshooting
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to project planning and scheduling
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of HVAC design experience in an MEP consulting environment
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of NYS codes, ASHRAE standards, and energy compliance
- Experience with commercial, healthcare, education, or multi-family projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit (BIM experience a plus)
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
