What you will be doing: You will be responsible for keeping vehicles in a clean and orderly condition and for operating vehicles for the purpose of transporting passengers and materials in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential responsibilities:

1. Operate light trucks and passenger vehicles; transport passengers and/or packages; ensure adherence to established schedules.
2. Maintain vehicles for routine service, clean vehicles, check fluid levels.
3. Maintain required driver records and reports
4. Perform routine vehicle equipment inspection daily, including lights, brakes, mirrors, steering and other required operating equipment; recommend mechanical repairs as needed.
5. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
6. Participate in student employability programs and activities.
7. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.
8. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
9. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education & experience:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related experience is required.
• General knowledge of vehicle maintenance is necessary.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is necessary.
